 Project HARMONY 3.0

HARMONY is a joint TERI–True Balance initiative focused on clean energy, digital and financial literacy, and livelihood creation for rural youth and women. Over three phases since FY 2023–24, the project has delivered across Delhi-NCR, Haryana and Uttarakhand. HARMONY Phase 3 FY 2025–26 builds on the foundations laid in Phases 1 and 2, TERI and BalanceHero India have expanded the programme to two distinct regions : Gurugram in Haryana and Mukteshwar in Uttarakhand. Each region presents its own social and environmental challenges, and Phase 3 has been designed to respond to both with tailored, community-driven interventions.

Across these two geographies, the programme has simultaneously addressed infrastructure deficits in government schools, energy poverty in rural hamlets, water stress in mountain villages, soil erosion on fragile hillsides, and the need for digital and financial skills among youth and women entrepreneurs. The result is a multi-pronged, integrated model of community development that goes well beyond a typical CSR initiative.

Key Outcomes (Phases I–III)

  • 700+ youth trained in digital and financial literacy
  • 7 solar-powered digital classrooms (Pragya Kaksh) set up
  • ~35 kW of decentralised renewable energy deployed
  • Clean drinking water provided to 150+ students
  • 9 rainwater harvesting structures built for water-stressed hamlets
  • 400+ saplings planted for soil erosion management
  • Community spaces cleaned up under Project Nirmalya

Key Interventions in HARMONY 3.0

1. Solar-Powered Digital Classrooms (Pragya Kaksh)

Seven government schools across Gurugram and Mukteshwar were renovated and equipped with rooftop solar systems and smart classroom technology, transforming crumbling spaces into bright, connected learning environments. School infrastructure was also renovated as part of the holistic intervention.

2. Solar Street Lights & Water Harvesting

50 solar street lights were installed across dark zones in Mukteshwar, improving community safety, supporting livelihoods, and reducing human-animal conflict. 9 decentralised rainwater harvesting structures were built across water-stressed villages.

3. Training, Capacity Building

403 youth, women and entrepreneurs were trained across 4 batches in March 2026 at TERI Gram and TERI Mukteshwar, covering digital finance and business development.
