National Report of India to be submitted to the 18th Session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development

The Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, is preparing the National Report for the 18th Annual Session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development. The focus of the National Report will be on the following five thematic clusters (i) Transport; (ii) Chemicals; (iii) Waste Management; (iv) Mining; and (v) Ten Year Framework of Programme on Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns. Three thematic areas have been assigned to TERI, that is ¿ (i) Waste Management; (ii) Chemicals; and (iii) Transport. In addition, TERI will serve as the nodal agency for consolidating the draft reports on other thematic areas being prepared by the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, and the Consumer Unity and Trust Society, Jaipur. TERI will also assist the MoEF in finalizing the draft report and printing it.
