Enhancing MSME Capacity for Energy Efficiency: TERI–BEE Collaborative Initiatives Under the ADEETIE Framework

08 Dec 2025 31 May 2026

The ADEETIE (Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries and Establishments) scheme is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Power, implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). It aims to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient technologies across industrial and MSME clusters in India. Spanning from FY 2025–26 to FY 2027–28 (Phase-I), the scheme supports critical activities such as Investment-Grade Energy Audits (IGEA), the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and the facilitation of energy efficiency investments.

The primary objective of this project is to support BEE in its ongoing efforts to strengthen MSME capacity for implementing these technologies. By building local awareness and providing dedicated technical support, the project seeks to facilitate the rapid adoption of energy-efficient measures across identified sectors and clusters.

TERI’s Role and Scope of Work

With over four decades of experience, TERI has been closely associated with BEE in implementing several national energy efficiency initiatives, including SAMEEEKSHA, the PAT programme, service provider capacity building, and demonstration projects in MSME clusters.

Under the ADEETIE framework, TERI will provide comprehensive technical support for the scheme's implementation in selected MSME clusters through the following interventions:

  • Awareness and Capacity Building: TERI will conduct physical workshops in collaboration with local industry associations and relevant stakeholders to promote energy-efficient technologies and available financing options. These will include dedicated workshops and follow-up technical support in the Rajkot foundry cluster and the Karnal cluster (sector to be finalized).
  • Technical Assessments: Based on industry interest, TERI will undertake Investment-Grade Energy Audits and prepare Detailed Project Reports for ten MSME units across the two target clusters. This data-driven support will empower units with the information needed for faster decision-making and technology adoption.
