Mr. Parikshit Abhimanyu Pawar is the Area Convenor for the Centre for Sustainable Land Management (CSLM), Land Resources Division, TERI. He works on the implementation of carbon finance projects across Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and is also involved in mangrove carbon finance initiatives in the Sundarbans and Gujarat. He has contributed to ecological rehabilitation initiatives, including efforts toward the conversion of red mud dump sites into green cover and scoping studies in the Aravalli Hills. He is actively involved in conducting training and capacity-building programmes on climate change, carbon stock assessment, and land restoration for diverse stakeholders, including IFS officers, agricultural officers, university faculty members, and PhD scholars.
He holds a degree in Forestry, a Postgraduate Diploma in Forestry Management from the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environment Law and Policy from National Law University (NLU), Delhi. He has field experience through collaborations with the Forest Departments of Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh. Parikshit also has prior professional experience in the wood industry and has worked under challenging field conditions in the Congo, Africa.
