The project activity is to describe the baseline power scenario in Sierra Leone and prepare the detailed product identification form (PIF) and project preparation grant (PPG) document for biomass power project promotion in Sierra Leone. The activity includes:
Identification of the need for the project;
Identification and detailing of the project component, expected output, and outcomes for each component;
Estimation of indicative total budget and expected GEF Grant and co-financing components;
A child-friendly and activity oriented project, E for Energy Efficiency will reach out to students in the age group of 8 to 12. The project will cover approximately 20 schools from two locations, i.e. Mumbai and Bangalore.
The objecitves of this National Summit are to:
Promote experience sharing on ongoing initiatives on energy efficiency improvement in the MSME sector and explore possibilities of synergizing actions;
Seek views of ground level stakeholders (entrepreneurs, industry associations, and local service providers) on possible strategies to promote energy efficiency;
Identify future opportunities and actions required for promoting energy efficiency in the MSME sector.
The exhibition's goal is to reach a broad public, nationally and internationally, and help initiate positive climate discussions and motivate children and adults to learn more and get involved.
The main objectives are:
Build awareness of climate change amongst all age groups of students;
Further their understanding through the use of visual and interactive mediums;
Bring about positive change in their thinking;
Motivate them to take action.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) together are hosting a workshop on 19 November 2012. The workshop will consist of a series of panel discussions featuring experts from India and Germany deliberating various issues related to a green and inclusive economy in India. Each panel will be structured in a manner so that it has two panelists -- one expert from India and one expert from Germany.
Research project on study urban heat island in bangalore city and suggest measures to mitigate them at building level
The project involves assessment of current resource consumption and use patterns by conducting energy, water, and waste audits in non-traction areas of the Indian Railway stations. Based on the data analysis from these audits, the baseline will be established. Potential of green measures will be checked and applied to improve performance of energy and water consumption, reduce waste generation and application of renewable and recyclable resources, development of achievable benchmarks, and carry out benchmarking of selected Indian railway stations.
This project forms part of UH-HABITAT's GENUS Programme (Global Energy Network for Urban Settlements), which consists of three components (1) slum electrification; (2) waste to energy; and (3) pro-poor mobility. The main objectives of this project are to:
conduct a workshop with experts and stakeholders on informal transport in India;
conduct a research on at least 50 case-studies on pro-poor mobility solutions that have been implemented in various countries;
facilitate knowledge dissemination on pro-poor mobility.
