TERI-ITEC Training Programme on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency - 2009-2010 from 4-22 January 2010

TERI has been empanelled by the ITEC (Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation programme) /Special Commonwealth Assistance for Africa Programme (SCAAP) of the Government of India. Under this program, TERI is offering five courses for the year 2009-10: Application of biotechnology and its regulation, Trade and sustainable development issues for developing countries, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, South and south-east asia fostering trade ties and Mainstreaming sustainable development. The course, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, will be held from 04 to 22 January 2010 for about 30 participants. The course aims to develop an understanding of existing and emerging renewable energy technologies, energy conservation and efficiency improvement techniques across various sectors. The course covers basics of different sources and forms of energy, role of renewable energy, energy efficiency, solar thermal technology, wind power, biomass gasification, small hydro, renewable energy policies, rural energy related issues and challenges, overview of energy scenario, etc. The training programme is open to all citizens of 156 ITEC/ SCAAP countries with a Bachelor''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s/ Master''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s degree in their respective fields, however a maximum of 4-5 candidates are chosen per course from each country. If selected, ITEC will meet the costs of the course, travel and stay for the participants. Applications have to be made to the Indian Missions in the respective countries.
