As on date 190 such hybrid solar charging units supporting 760 power looms have been installed. Similarly 8 solar charging units supporting 50 battery powered boats have been commissioned. Under the existing partnership, the objective of this project would be to enhance the livelihood /incremental income for weavers and boatmen respectively, additional energy provision for power loom and battery powered boats will be made. For the implementation of the project, grant assistance from Indus Towers has been provided. In addition to that co-funding from communities will be mobilized for ownership and long-term sustainability of the project. Over a period of 12 months, energy provisions would be made for 10 battery powered boats and ~560 power looms respectively.
