TERI University and Coca-Cola Join Hands to set up Department of Regional Water Studies

TERI University has joined hands with The Coca-Cola Foundation to launch the 'Coca-Cola Department of Regional Water Studies'. Dr Leena Srivastava, Vice-Chancellor of TERI University and Asim Parekh, Vice President, Technical and Supply Chain, Coca-Cola India and South West Asia launched the program at the TERI University Campus, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.

On the concluding day of the 14th edition of The 'Delhi Sustainable Development Summit' (DSDS), held in New Delhi today, world leaders and government representatives urged the global community to take urgent steps to reverse the effects of climate change and work towards sustainable and equitable development without further delay. They called on governments and businesses to come up with a comprehensive plan of action to achieve energy, water and food security to reduce poverty levels, especially in the developing world.

TERI and Jain Irrigation Systems join hands to set up a Resource Center on water use efficiency

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in association with Jain Irrigations Systems Limited today signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up a 'Resource Centre on Water Use Efficiency'. This is an effort to address the current and future challenges of water and food security. The MoU marks the beginning of a new chapter in carrying out comprehensive research on the themes of water use efficiency at the farm level, water conservation and regeneration practices along with more efficient farm system practices.

During the third day of DSDS 2014, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) felicitated the winners of the Second Nicholas Georgescu-Roegen Awards. The Award comprises of two categories - Unconventional Thinking and Bioeconomic Practice. Professor Inge Ropke has been named the winner of the Georgescu-Roegen Award for Unconventional Thinking, while Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel chaired by Prof. Madhav Gadgil for Bioeconomic Practice.
