TERI Deakin Nanobiotechnology Centre, in partnership with Department of Biotechnology (DBT) Government of India, organised a two-day international conference to address the challenges of nanobiotechnology in agriculture sector.
The air pollution levels in Delhi and surrounding regions are touching the emergency level of 300 μg/m3 for PM2.5, yet again as we approach the winters. There has been a gradual increase in these levels during the last 35 days (as illustrated in the figure below).
Along with its partners, TERI proudly announces the inception of Collaborative Clean Air Policy Centre (CCAPC), a new partnership among the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Sri Ramachandra University Chennai, University of California Berkeley, and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) Delhi.

Inaugurating the conference on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, Mr Vijay Shivtare, Minister of state for Water resources and Water conservation, Maharashtra said, "India continues to face multiple challenges, in the areas of the environment, water and waste management etc. Mumbai and Pune together, generate over 12,000 tonnes of waste, which could be a great opportunity for the Industry to get into a BOT (Build, Operate and Transfer) kind of an arrangement to recycle and/or transform waste to energy.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the Capital Region Development Authority of Andhra Pradesh (APCRDA), State Energy Efficiency Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APSEEDCO) and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) for implementation of Green Buildings and Sustainable Habitat at the upcoming new capital township of Amaravati.
On the occasion of the State Visit of Swiss President H.E. Mrs. Doris Leuthard in India and to celebrate the "70 Years of Swiss-Indian Friendship" initiative, an interactive Town Hall on "Energy Policy and Climate Change" with youth of India was held.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) entered into a strategic association with the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) to achieve common objectives related to research and development of solar energy and related equipment and technology. TERI Director General, Dr Ajay Mathur, and NISE Director General, Dr AK Tripathi, signed the five-year memorandum of understanding at TERI.
The 16th Darbari Seth Memorial Lecture, organized by TERI annually, deliberated on the challenges and opportunities in decarbonising the power sector as we transition to a green future for the stable economic growth of India. The need to continue working towards India's renewable energy target of 175 gigawatts by 2022 was also reiterated at this year's Independence Day celebrations by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi.
