New Delhi, January 30, 2020: NITI Aayog CEO Mr Amitabh Kant today said that electric vehicles should become much cheaper than combustion vehicles in three years. Mr Kant further said that the price of battery packs of EVs is expected to fall to $76 per kilowatt hour (or unit) in three years, down from the present day $156/unit. At that point, he said, even the upfront cost of electrical vehicles will become cheaper than combustion vehicles, with the total cost of ownership already competitive.

New Delhi: Lucknow and Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh and Pune and Nashik in Maharashtra will launch the Clean Air Project in India (CAP India) initiative to improve air quality in their cities. This project will be implemented by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in partnership with city authorities. CAP India was announced at the World Sustainable Development Summit 2020 being held in New Delhi.

New Delhi, December 3: Changing the process of producing bio-diesel could help reduce tailpipe emissions of nanoparticles, contributing to improving air quality, according to a collaborative study by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), the Finnish Meteorological Institute, and Tampere University, Finland.
