The center is working to establish a dedicated Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Hub at Mokhada, Palghar district of Maharashtra under the DST-sponsored project to implement innovative interventions for addressing malnutrition and generating livelihood opportunities for Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities.
ITC Mission Sunehra Kal (ITC MSK) project has been developed to assess the impact generated by the project’s programs. The objective is to determine the carbon sequestered as a result of ITC's interventions done through ITC’s MSK in seven different states, namely Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. The study's primary goal is to establish a baseline and estimate the Carbon stocks for ITC MSK's intervention areas.

The project aims at remediation and reclamation of Hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) dumpsite by the use of biostimulation (BS), bioaugmentation (BA), phytoremediation (Phyto) and combinations thereof. The HCH dumpsite located in the Umari village on the outskirts of Lucknow in Banrabanki district was acquired by the State Forest Department. The objective of this project is to large-scale production of HCH-degrading microbial consortia and reclamation of HCH contaminated sites by implementation of bioremediation (bio-augmentation and bio-stimulation).
Transitioning to alternative sustainable materials can help mitigate the carbon intensity associated with plastic production and its impact on climate change. In this regard, the use of jute for packaging plays an important role from sustainability perspective due to its renewable nature, biodegradability, low carbon footprint, positive impact on soil health, reduced water consumption, versatility, and economic significance. By choosing jute products over synthetic alternatives, individuals and industries can contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
Fossil fuel-sourced Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has significant environmental impacts along its well-to-wheel chain. In 2021 aviation accounted for over 2% of global energy-related CO2 emissions, having grown faster in recent decades than road, rail or shipping. The estimated consumption of ATF for international operations by Indian operators is expected to reach around 2.2 million tonnes by 2030, while that for domestic operations, it will reach 10.1 million tonnes during the same period.
TERI, under its commitments to the FOLU India platform operations, has taken the responsibility of developing a roadmap for the crop diversification of Punjab.
