The Environment Education and Awareness (EEA) Area at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) has designed a summer programme that enables school students to gain knowledge, enhance their skillsets and obtain access to resources and networks to strengthen their competencies on issues related to environment and sustainable development. Independent monitoring of mechanized road sweeping operation

The objective of this study will be to conduct an independent monitoring of mechanised road sweeping (MRS) operation in North Delhi Municipal Corporation area as a third party and identify gaps and deficiencies in the existing system and suggest possible corrective actions. The MRS operation audit will help in: (i) ensuring that regulatory compliances are being met; (ii) comparing current practices to benchmarks; (iii) generating baseline data and reviewing existing practices; (iv) establishing indicators and targets.

The Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW) has joined hands with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to support the reduction of plastic waste entering the environment of the two Ganga cities Haridwar and Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, India. The project Aviral aims at reducing plastic waste entering the city environment by strengthening an integrative and improved plastic waste management system.  

Prevention of Marine Litter in the Lakshadweep Sea (ProMiSe)

There is a pressing need to curb marine pollution in the Maldives, Sri Lanka and India sharing access to the pristine ecosystems of the Lakshadweep Sea. The overall objective of the ProMiSe project is to contribute to the prevention and leakage of wastes from land-based sources into the Lakshadweep Sea in line with sustainable consumption and production approach, thus enhancing the attractiveness of tourism industries, avoiding further deterioration of marine ecosystems and improving living conditions in the Maldives, Sri Lanka and India.
