The main objective of project is "To Develop Voluntary carbon market project in Periyar Tiger Reserve (PTR) in India" with the sub-objectives mentioned below: A. Baseline preparation on socio-economic status and livelihood of communities in and around Periyar Tiger Reserve (PTR), Kerala. B. Assessment of carbon stocks in Periyar Tiger Reserve (PTR), Kerala. C. Preparation of Project Description (PD) & Monitoring Report (MR), validation and verification of projects for Voluntary Carbon Markets.
The objective of the assignment is to assess carbon stocks of forest areas, generate carbon finance under voluntary carbon markets, prepare Project Design Document (PDD), preparation of MRs and their validation and verification of Projects for Voluntary Carbon Markets and building capacity of the community in carbon assessment and in generating carbon finance for the stake holders (Van Panchayats - VPs). The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is implementing a project titled 'Overseas Module on Forestry Practices Training for Indian Forest Service Probationers'. The deliverable of this assignment is to organise a module for special exposure to overseas forestry practices training for IFS probationers. The overall objective is to help the participants learn new forestry, protected area management and technological practices adopted in Australia and Laos and consolidate their learning in the light of changing forestry paradigms.
The main objectives are to: (1) Ascertain the extent of adherence, by land-acquiring bodies, to the procedural and substantive provision of the RFCTLARR Act, 2013 for land acquisition in tribal areas. (2) Gain knowledge of the experience of project-affected-Scheduled Tribes families regarding the implementation of the provisions of Chapter V of the RFCTLARR Act, 2013. (3) Examine the ground reality regarding the seeking of consent of Gram Sabha or Panchayat or the autonomous District Council, as the case may be, for land acquisition in the Fifth Schedule Area.
The objective of this project is to produce a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for setting up a Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Land Management which entails the following: Background and objectives in detail of Centre of Excellence Scope of work and functions of Centre of Excellence Well defined methodology to set up a Centre of Excellence Best suited organizational structure with manpower and infrastructure
The project is aimed at development of technologies for measuring and maintaining ecosystem services from forests. In view of paucity of such studies, economic valuation of forest ecosystem services will be useful. The main objectives of the study are to: (i) estimate the use and non-use values of ecosystem services provided by the wildlife sanctuary; and (ii) identify the measures for maintaining and enhancing the ecosystem services.
TERI's study highlights that the total economic value of the five ecosystem services in Delhi Zoo is estimated to be INR 422.76 crore. This study is 'first of its kind' for habitats such as zoological parks in India.
The objective of this project is to conduct a market study of the Indian pongamia market including its investment context, socioeconomic factors, local market actors with a regional focus in the States of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
