Technical assistance on Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) program and Climate Seed Platform

TERI in the project proposes to provide consultancy services to TWU on obtaining VCS certification and generating carbon credits under ClimateSeed platform. The project can help upscale in achieving reduced carbon emissions that can be utilized for attaining carbon credits through existing carbon markets and includes developing a project development document and validation that is together documented in a project application along with the engagement with ClimateSeed for verification and project hosting.

Artificial Fruit ripening agents like Calcium Carbide are widely used for artificial banana fruit ripening which is harmful for both human being and environment due to presence of traces of arsenic and phosphorus.Lack of bio based easier and rapid methods for uniform ripening poses a major problem in the fruit industry. The proposed Project will explore and validate the indigenous knowledge on use of plant materials for ripening of banana.

Developing voluntary carbon market projects for agroforestry plantations in five selected districts of Punjab

The State of Punjab is an agriculture intensive state with traditional rice-wheat cropping system that has contributed towards food security of the country. However, the productivity of this system has declined in certain areas due to various reasons. Agroforestry has emerged as one of the viable alternatives for diversification from existing rice-wheat rotation. Agroforestry can contribute more than 2 billion tons of CO2e by 2030 if government provides them Minimum Support Price (MSP) of timber produced by farmer.

Assessment of RFCTLARR 2013 - Odisha, Jharkhand and Assam

The main objectives are to: (1) Ascertain the extent of adherence, by land-acquiring bodies, to the procedural and substantive provision of the RFCTLARR Act, 2013 for land acquisition in tribal areas. (2) Gain knowledge of the experience of project-affected-Scheduled Tribes families regarding the implementation of the provisions of Chapter V of the RFCTLARR Act, 2013. (3) Examine the ground reality regarding the seeking of consent of Gram Sabha or Panchayat or the autonomous District Council, as the case may be, for land acquisition in the Fifth Schedule Area.
