Biofuels for transportation: India country study

This study will primarily focus on the current scenario on biofuel development in India and assessment of the biofuel potential at the national level based on the economics and availability of resources. Four field visits and six desk studies will be carried out in order to get a better understanding of the field realities, issues, and challenges related to biofuels development.

Evaluation of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and entomopathogenic nematode cruisers interaction on the reproduction and development of root knot nematode, M. incognita on tomato

Collection and identification of native isolates of entomopathogenic nematode (EPN) and arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi. Selection of EPN isolates based on cruising ability and study the interactive development of AM fungi in presence of EPN. Study the variation in development and progeny production of root knot nematode in the presence of EPN and AM fungi on tomato.

Prepare integrated electricity supply master plan for off-grid Sundarban Islands

The objective of the project is to demonstrate and disseminate biomass gasifiers that encourage the use of these systems and energy services in the PoP-making industries. Based on the nature of this sector, it is envisaged that biomass gasifiers will be immediately promoted and installed with a joint financial mechanism (support from WISIONS, subsidy from government, and contribution from users).

In the first phase of the project, through experiments, interventions in agriculture and forestry aspects, mainly to choose the best crop or forestry species combination to replicate at a larger scale will be attempted.

Solid waste management in Annasandrapalya

The project aimed to address the problem of solid waste disposal by developing a SWM plan for the community of Annasandrapalya in eastern Bangalore and subsequently implementing this plan. This locality lies adjacent to a lake, which is being adversely affected by the indiscriminate disposal of garbage in and around it.

State development report for Arunachal Pradesh
