State Leadership Meet: Rajasthan 2024
Enabling energy transitions is the key to reducing future GHG emissions, and is crucial for averting the climate crisis. Over the past decade, mass scale deployment of renewable energy has accelerated structural changes in electricity systems. Renewable energy presents a huge opportunity to the Indian industry to decarbonize and clean its energy system. Recognizing the opportunity presented by the renewables sector, India as part of its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) has committed to achieve 500GW of installed electric power from renewables by 2030.
Rajasthan is one of the leading states when it comes to commissioned solar power with more than 1318MW of solar power already in use. In order to push the adaptation of solar, the state government announced its solar energy policy in 2014 to add an additional capacity of 25,000MW in Rajasthan. It is estimated that solar parks of more than 500MW will be developed by joint ventures between the state government and private company. The state has taken several steps such as fast-tracking the process of approvals for mega large projects that are above 500MW outlining its commitment towards solar energy.
In this context, TERI is engaging as Knowledge Partner at the State Leadership Meet: Rajasthan organized by Solar Quarter. The Summit will delve into insightful sessions discussing Regulatory Frameworks, Policy & Project Landscape, Finance Models & Innovations on Large-Scale Solar and Solar-Wind Hybrid Initiatives, Rooftop and Decentralized Solar Solutions and Solar Solutions for C&I Sustainability Leaders.
