E Summer school nanosafety challenges

The Summer School will provide a series of lectures on nanofsafety challenges and enable a free exchange of ideas and sharing of experiences from experts in an interactive format.

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), in collaboration with, the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India is organising an E-Summer School on "Nanosafety Challenges: Rethinking Nanosafety" on May 18, 2022.

Globally, as multiple nanoproducts are reaching the application and commercial stages, it becomes vital to understand any potential risks associated with their synthesis and application. These nanoparticles may be of interest to the agricultural, food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. However, due to unique physicochemical properties, these nanoparticles also tend to have complex environmental interactions and interfere with the assays, detection and estimation systems. Factors like these pose a significant challenge in their overall safety assessments.

To this end, the summer school aims to provide a lecture series on the complex topic of nanosafety challenges by bringing together leading academic researchers, representatives from international and national regulatory bodies, professionals, technocrats and industrial representatives.

An interactive Q&A Session will also be held where an expert panel will enagage and answer problems and queries from a wide variety of audiences.
