Capacity Building Program on 'Carbon Footprint Assessment and Management'
TERI organized a training programme for Indian businesses, corporates, and medium-sized enterprises to disseminate knowledge and to raise awareness on carbon footprint and its management from December 8-9, 2016 in Goa.
The two-day training was organized under aegis of the India GHG Program - a tripartite initiative led by TERI, CII, and WRI India. The training programme aimed to assist Indian companies to measure and manage GHG emissions caused by its operational activities in a consistent and credible manner.. It addressed questions such as these - how GHG emissions caused by industrial operations result in global warming; how can we account for GHG emissions; what are the various mitigation strategies; and where to report GHG performance.
The training programme was attended by over 20 participants representing senior officials from Hero MotoCorp, Vedanta Sesa Goa, L&T Special Steel, Birla Furukawa Fibre Optics, Tech Mahindra among others. From TERI, Mr Arupendra Nath Mullick, Fellow, TERI and Mr Abhishek Kaushik, Associate Fellow, TERI participated as faculty members in the training programme.
