The aluminum industry in India is highly concentrated with relatively few players dominating the market. Hindustan Aluminum Company Ltd. (HINDALCO) is the largest among them, controlling about 40% of market share. The Industry is one among the flagship companies of Aditya Birla Group of Industries, which is one of the largest corporate groups of the country.
“Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas” serves to educate and mobilize people across the country for environmental protection, to inspire action on personal, community, national and international levels. Through voluntary action, each of us can join in building a productive land in harmony with nature.
Project CARE (Creating Awareness and skills in youth for Responsibility towards Environment), a TERI-Accenture initiative, focuses on life skill development (for livelihood generation), specifically targeting low income communities in environmentally vulnerable localities. The project will be implemented in 7 cities, namely Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Gurgaon, Noida.

Main objective of the project are:1. To conduct research on the experience of the CDM Project development in large energy intensive sectors2. To propose the CDM reform basd on the CDM capacity building activities in India
The main objectives of this phase are: (1) Design and testing of a low cost wood cutter, which can be used by women easily for fuel processing without being dependent on their male counterparts; (2) Qualitative and quantitative assessment of the usage pattern of fuel and corresponding kitchen air BC concentration capturing seasonal variation in select village households;
This project comprises of the following two parts. 1/Truing up for year 2004-05 to 2008-09 and detrmination of tariff for year 2010-2011 for Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam - this involves a pudential check of the annual accounts of the 5 power plants from FY 2004-05 to FY 2008-09 so as to revise the ARR. There would be preparation of True up model of ARR for these plants.
TERI will develop a framework for collecting, compiling, and maintaining data/information on the Indian transport sector; and an on-line databases.
The objective of this project was to explore urban sustainability with respect to the provision of basic services in Indian cities. The project was aimed to serve as a step towards the larger goal of developing a framework for guiding Indian cities towards sustainability.
