The journey of light in rural villages of Rajasthan began with just two villages (Banganga and Jodhula) in June, 2008. Today, it has spread across two districts viz. Jaipur and Alwar taking the number of villages to 34.

The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board has selected TERI to assist in preparation of a State Environment Policy (SEP). Rajasthan presently faces a number of serious environmental challenges in the areas of water resources, agriculture, industry, energy, urban development, tourism, forests and biodiversity, and others.

Impact Evaluation Study for assessing the impact of NWDPRA programme in 108 selected watersheds treated during 10th plan. TERI has been assigned the evaluation of 16 watersheds in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.

The project aims to demonstrate clean energy device for preparation of mid day meals in selected rural primary schools and also enhnace nutirional value through promotion of bio-intensive gardens. The project wil be implemented with community participation and also includes aspects to ensure sustainability and post project management.
