Relative Environment Economics of Natural Gas and other Fossil Fuels for Power Generation and Policy Options for India

This project will update an earlier work done by TERI for Petrofed. The relative power generation costs of coal and natural gas will be compared while accounting for the environmental implications of each fuel.

The HighNoon approach and objectivesThe principal aim of the project is to assess the impact of Himalayan glaciers retreat and possible changes of the Indian summer monsoon on the spatial and temporal distribution of water resources in Northern India and to provide recommendations for appropriate and efficient response strategies that strengthen the cause for adaptation to hydrological extreme events.

TERI in partnership with the World Resources Institute (WRI) has embarked upon a Programme in India to build capacity on corporate greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting with the use of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP) standards. The program will explore linking energy-efficiency improvements with GHG emission reductions and help companies gain additional understanding of their GHG-related risks and opportunities.
TERI Environmental Survey 2013

The TERI Environmental Survey is assessing at people’s perception, behaviour, awareness and opinion towards the environment (air, water, waste and waste management, climate change, forest/green cover and cleanliness and health of surrounding areas). Sensitization, Education and Awareness on Recycling for a Cleaner Habitat

Project SEARCH is a school environment education programme that aims to raise awareness amongst school students, teachers, school community and the society at large on the issue of waste. The idea is to encourage the young students and teachers to practice the 4Rs – refuse, reuse, reduce and recycle – in their daily lives and to make consumption choices that would ensure the sustainability of the planet in the years to come.
YUVA (Youth Unite for Voluntary Action) Meet 2013
