“Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas” serves to educate and mobilize people across the country for environmental protection, to inspire action on personal, community, national and international levels. Through voluntary action, each of us can join in building a productive land in harmony with nature.
To mark the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi, this day was observed first time, on 20th August 2004. Since then each year, this day is celebrated with rallies, human peace chains-runs, competitions such as essay writings, paintings, quiz, debates, etc. organised by educational institutions across the country. Akshay Urja Divas is an effort for creating awareness about the
development of renewable energy in our country, informing
the end users about the latest developments, sharing the views
and experiences of all the stakeholders including users and
providing feed back to the policy makers for constant
improvement in the planning process.
