The workshop on “Membrane Bioreactors (MBRs) for Wastewater Treatment” was held on 6th November 2008 at TERI, in collaboration with UNESCO Center for Membrane Science and Technology, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. The workshop aimed to (a) provide an overview of MBR technology and the research being conducted at TERI and UNSW (b) understand how MBRs could contribute towards a step-change in wastewater treatment in emerging economies like India (c) identify the customization requirements and research gaps that need to be addressed.
