Training Course on "Development of Clean Development Mechanism Projects under Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry: Theory and Practice"

TERI was selected by the Ministry of Environment and Forests to conduct a one-week training course for Indian Forest Service officers on "Development of Clean Development Mechanism Projects under Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry: Theory and Practice."
The course started with a background on the science of Global Warming and Climate Change; response of International community-UNFCCC (1) Kyoto Protocol and Marrakesh Accord (2) Latest Negotiations under COP; and the Indian perspective of the Climate Change Negotiations.
Technical Consultancy for Integrated Water Management to achive zero discharge for a textile dyeing industry

Integrated Water Management for upcoming large textile dyeing industry in southern India involved to look in to every aspect of water and wastewater. The critical evaluation of ETP design for zero discharge with a key objective of recommending suitable technology with optmised initial investment and operating expenses. At Gleneagles in July 2005, the G8 highlighted the importance of strengthening technology cooperation to develop low carbon energy options. Many developing countries pressed for a new approach to international cooperation in the area of clean energy technologies. As a follow-up to this, the UK Government and the GoI have decided to collaborate on a study to assess the barriers to the transfer of low carbon energy technology between developed and developing countries.Workshops on Digital Libraries

Changes in the procurement processes and specifications of governments and public authorities can have significant impacts on markets and send strong signals to the public. On average, public expenditure/consumption accounts for 16% of national GDPs. If governments make a concerted demand for sustainable goods and services, it could directly trigger a substantial increase in their supply and demand.
