Mobile air-conditioning assessment study in India
September 16, 2005 to
July 2, 2007
India''s Mobile Air-Conditoning (MAC) study is about the mobile air-conditioners which results in the direct emissions of chlorofloro carbon (CFC refrigerant), and the indirect emissions of CO2 generated by the extra fuel required to power the A/C system. The objective of this project is to determine fuel consumption and CO2 emissions due to operation of the MACs in different regions of the country with the refrigerant used presently and further estimate the same, if advanced refrigerants are used. This project would also carry out toEnvironment Knowledge Hub (eKH) on Energy for South Asia
September 1, 2006 to
June 30, 2007
Within overall ambit of UNEP's endeavour of establishing an Environment Knowledge Hub for the region, TERI is developing a package of the knowledge related to the energy aspects in South Asia sub-region, based on existing information/databases.Development of protocols for increased cell density for Glori cultures
April 1, 2007 to
June 30, 2007
The objectives were:1. Standardization of fermentation conditions to increase the cell density by manipulation of :
i. Temperature condition
ii. Inoculum density
iii. Agitation
2. Standardization and selection of suitable growth factors to achieve higher cell density of at least 108 CFU per ml of sample.
3. Following growth factors were tested :
i. Growth stimulators (Vitamins and trace minerals)
ii. Carbon source (combination of different carbon sources)
Production of high added value products for environmental applications from agricultural byproduct in India: Activated carbon production from bagasse and rice husks
January 19, 2004 to
June 30, 2007
The objective of this project is to produce a high added value product (activated carbon) from waste agriculture by-products (bagasse and rice husk) through technology transfer from the European Union. Tests would be done in waste streams of the local and related industries. Technical information and test outcomes would be disseminated to the local SMEs (small and medium enterprises), local industries, and the environmental bodies.Emission Inventorisation for Faridabad Town

This project is part of the NWDPRA (National Watershed Development Programme for Rainfed areas) of the Government of India. The villages covered in this project are in Bicholim Taluka, North Goa. The project involves the people's participation to develop land and water resources for enhancing productivity in rainfed areas on a sustainable basis.Project Accounting and Monitoring System (PAMS) for TISS
May 1, 2006 to
May 31, 2007
The overall objective of the system is to automate the process flow of existing Project Accounting and Monitoring System (PAMS) for effective planning, tracking and reporting of projects at TISS. The scope of the system starts from project initiation, which includes activity scheduling, budgeting, grant schedule, project monitoring etc. till project completion. This will allow users to perform their activities, retrieve necessary information on demand and generate effective MIS reports as per their profiles.International conference on Energy, environment, and development - analysing opportunities for reducing poverty
December 1, 2005 to
May 31, 2007
TERI will jointly organise an international conference on "Energy, environment, and development - analysing opportunities for reducing poverty" with the Veolia Environment Institute in December 2006. The conference will focus on challenges for sustainable development that arise from the nexus between energy, environment, and poverty. It will provide an opportunity for policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and the donor community to engage in constructive dialogue on possible solutions.Competition Issues in the Energy Sector in India
