Development of renewable energy projects for CDM (clean development mechanism)

The objective of the project is to expand renewable energy use and thereby limit the emission of greenhouse gases. This would include enabling PLN to market its emissions reduction credit from the subprojects under CDM and contribute to building its in-house capacity to identify and develop similar CDM projects in future.
Preparation of DPRs (detailed project reports) of electrification of 300 remote villages in the state of Orissa

Survey and peparation of village-wise DPRs for electrification of 300 remote villages in the state of Orissa through different decentralized power generation technologies based on renewable resources of energy (including biomass-related technologies). The scope of the work shall inter-alia include village survey and household survey.

Microbial diversity of hyper thermophilic sulphate reducing bacteria in oil reservoirs of OIL and their control

Souring of oil wells due to SRB (sulphate reducing bacteria) is a common problem faced by the oil industries and it leads to huge economical losses. Large amount of formation water is generated along with the production of crude oil at the Oil India Ltd. This formation water is reinjected into abandoned oil wells after primary treatment.

The objective of this study is to assess capacity of households engaged in agriculture to cope with the current climatic variability and water stress. This would be done through a participatory approach to assess vulnerability and adaptive capacity at the local level. The broader objective is to explore possible scenarios of interventions that can help build adaptive capacity.
