Sustainable energy in Micro-enterprises for Income and Livelihood Enhancement (SMILE) would aim to work with multiple of stakeholders, following an integrated approach, to identify and remove barriers, specifically for the micro and home-based enterprises. It would also work towards improvement of energy efficiency and adoption of RE energy, build capacity, help develop financial instruments, and establish linkages with financial institutions and facilitate deployment of energy-efficient RE technology for productive use specifically.
Enhancing Energy Access through Women Entrepreneurs in Bihar - Clean Cookstove Program

Reliable energy access has been a major challenge in remote rural area. The proposed intervention focuses on developing value chain for solar related products as well as forced draft biomass cookstove engaging women entrepreneurs in the state of Bihar. Use of efficient biomass stove will reduce the air pollution which will result in improvement of air quality in the proposed 5 districts of Bihar.
Overseas Module on Forestry Practices Training for Indian Forest Service Probationers

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is implementing a project titled 'Overseas Module on Forestry Practices Training for Indian Forest Service Probationers'. The deliverable of this assignment is to organise a module for special exposure to overseas forestry practices training for IFS probationers. The overall objective is to help the participants learn new forestry, protected area management and technological practices adopted in Australia and Laos and consolidate their learning in the light of changing forestry paradigms.

(i) Data collection and assessment for the years 2005-2020;
(ii) Analysis of consumption and production of ODSs by application sectors such as refrigeration, foam, fire extinguishing, aerosol and solvent cleaning, mobile air-conditioning, metered dose inhalers sectors etc.
(iii) Estimation of GHG emissions of ODS used for the applications mentioned in point (ii) above for the year 2025;

Under this study date is to be collected on community resources of approximately 25,372 revenue villages across 33 districts of Assam by dividing into 10 data collection zones. The data to be collected using a mobile application which will be synced on a cloud-based server on real-time. The main objectives are to: - explore and assess the educational attainments of people in the riverine/Char areas of River Brahmaputra in Assam.

Independent monitoring of mechanized road sweeping operation

The objective of this study will be to conduct an independent monitoring of mechanised road sweeping (MRS) operation in North Delhi Municipal Corporation area as a third party and identify gaps and deficiencies in the existing system and suggest possible corrective actions. The MRS operation audit will help in: (i) ensuring that regulatory compliances are being met; (ii) comparing current practices to benchmarks; (iii) generating baseline data and reviewing existing practices; (iv) establishing indicators and targets.
Reclamation of aluminium waste (red mud) through developing vegetation cover at Hindalco, Muri, Ranchi

Developing green cover at the red mud and convert the red mud deposits, which is inhospitable for plants, to a substrate which will allow them to grow and develop by improving its physical and physico-chemical conditions, and removing the inhibiting substances by means of low-cost additives and treatments. The specific objectives of the assignment will include: (1) Formulate and develop closer plan report on mine rehabilitation of 100 acres of area.

Industries like foundry, forging, steel rolling, wire drawing, galvanizing and other mixed engineering units are concentrated in this region. In addition, with high growth expected for engineering goods over the next 10 years, large capital expenditure is being planned by new industries being set-up in up-coming industrial parks, like the Foundry Park in Howrah.
