Dr Metali Sarkar is working as Associate Fellow and Area Convenor in the NMCG-TERI Centre of Excellence on Water Reuse at TERI. Her interest areas include sustainable wastewater management, circularity in wastewater sector, decarbonization of wastewater utilities, etc.
Dr Metali has actively contributed to the project focused on exploring advanced wastewater and sludge treatment options and resource recovery for decarbonizing wastewater utilities in the Bengaluru Metropolitan Area. Additionally, she has been working on addressing frothing issues in the Yamuna River as part of a crucial environmental initiative. Along with her research and project management expertise, she is proficient in wastewater technology design and implementation. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology.
