Training Workshop on advances in Biotechnology
The main objective of this refresher training course for scientists, academicians, administrators and policy makers, is:
• To train academicians in specialized technologies in the area of plant biotechnology and molecular biology and build capacities
• To provide “hands-on” training and exposure to a wide variety of DNA based markers and to impart a conceptual understanding on their myriad applications
• To acquaint the participants to the principles of plant tissue culture and genetic transformation
• To give exposure on technologies related to sustainable agriculture such as biofertilizer development and production.
• To sensitize the participants on various issues related to Biotechnology such as bio-safety regulations, policy issues and IPR regime for balanced promotion of Biotechnology Research.
