Resource use benchmarking and performance enhancement in selected Asian railway stations with comparative analysis of resource use

20 Jul 2012 31 Jan 2013

The project involves assessment of current resource consumption and use patterns by conducting energy, water, and waste audits in non-traction areas of the Indian Railway stations. Based on the data analysis from these audits, the baseline will be established. Potential of green measures will be checked and applied to improve performance of energy and water consumption, reduce waste generation and application of renewable and recyclable resources, development of achievable benchmarks, and carry out benchmarking of selected Indian railway stations. Comparison with international examples and benchmarks of two Asian countries shall be studied. Finally, a benchmarking cum rating tool will be developed for evaluation of performance of stations with respect to established benchmarks .
