Rebuilding hopes: Integrated village development plans

The increasing inequity between the haves and have not's demands that rural development planning be decentralized, to ensure quality delivery of services based on specific benchmarks and norms. For the purpose, a systematic approach and availability of data on key parameters is essential. In this context, TERI, in collaboration with GIDC, focused on developing a framework for decentralized village development planning in the Vagra Taluka of the Bharuch district in Gujarat. The planning process covered a total of 19 villages focusing on basic amenity provision and infrastructure development at the village level
