Dr Shailly Kedia is a policy researcher who is a Senior Fellow and Associate Director with the Sustainable Development and Outreach division at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). Dr Kedia has been with TERI since 2009 and is a multidisciplinary research professional with 19 years of experience in policy research, outreach, and capacity building. At TERI, she has spearheaded the work on green budgeting, green public procurement, green finance, and sustainable consumption and production. Her areas of expertise include green growth, sustainable development policy, international organization, finance, and the interface between climate and development policies. Since 2021, she is also the Curator of TERI’s flagship initiative - the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS).
She is a Board Member of World Sustainable Development Forum and serves on the Board of Directors of ESG Risk Assessments and Insights. An Expert Reviewer for the upcoming Seventh Global Environment Outlook (GEO-7) of the United Nations Environment Programme, she was a Co-chair of the Taskforce on Sustainable Lifestyles of Think-20, an Engagement Group of the G20. She was Member of the Taskforce on Greening Rural Development of the Ministry of Rural Development; Member of the Indo-German Expert Group on Green and Inclusive Economy; and Co-chair of the Green Growth Knowledge Platform Research Committee on Inclusiveness.
In the past, Dr Kedia has worked with the Sustainable Development Network of the World Bank in Washington, DC; and with the Center for Climate Systems Research at Columbia University and NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York. Dr Kedia has a doctoral degree in International Organization from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Master of Business Administration (Finance) from University of Stirling, Scotland, and Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) from the National Institute of Technology, Surat. She has pursued a Post-baccalaureate Programme in International Development from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University and completed an Executive Programme on Leadership from Harvard Business School.
