Dr Shovon Mandal

Dr Shovon Mandal, Fellow and Area Convenor of the Agricultural Biotechnology, has made substantial contributions to the field of algal biotechnology. He aims to use biotechnological process to manufacture food, feed, fertilizer and fuel from microalgae. Dr Mandal research helped to generate an environmentally sustainable route for improving algal productivity. Prior joining TERI, he held the position at US Department of Energy Laboratories (Los Alamos National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory), University of Michigan and the University of California San Diego. Dr Mandal received his PhD from the IIT Kharagpur.
