Technology & Cultural Showcase
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in collaboration with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and CALSTART; and Shakti Foundation as Knowledge Partner is organizing a Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Global Expo at Dr Shayama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium at the 14th Clean Energy Ministerial in Goa from July 19 – 22, 2023, to showcase what the future of India’s road transport sector could look like.
With the transport sector amounting for almost 15% of India’s GHG emissions, and road transport sector which is dominated by medium and heavy-duty trucks being responsible for the lion’s share in this, addressing the carbon emissions from transport is imperative to achieve India’s net zero commitment and the EV30@30 vision.
Zero Emission Technology (ZET), especially in heavy duty vehicles (HDVs) and long duty vehicles (LDVs) segment, then opens myriad opportunities not only for the country to accelerate action towards decarbonization of the road transport sector and reduce the growing diesel consumption in the country but also unlock new markets for OEMs (vehicle, battery and powertrain) and infrastructure providers.
The expo will serve as a global platform for International and Indian OEMs and startups to showcase a diverse range of robust technologies. Some of the key highlights include:
1. Vehicle Technology Display:
The expo will feature a dedicated zone to exhibit the latest advancements in vehicle technology. This will include a showcase of zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles, and other sustainable mobility solutions. Additionally, there will be a focus on presenting innovative charging infrastructure to support the growing electric vehicle ecosystem.
2. Startups in the Clean Energy Domain:
The expo will provide a significant platform for startups operating in the clean energy domain. These startups will have the opportunity to showcase their cutting-edge solutions, emphasizing renewable energy sources and sustainable practices. Visitors will have the chance to explore a wide range of clean energy technologies and gain insights into the future of the industry.
3. Cultural Showcase:
Alongside the technological exhibits, the expo will also celebrate and showcase the cultural diversity of India. This showcase will create a vibrant and immersive atmosphere, promoting cross-cultural exchange and appreciation.
By combining these elements, the expo will not only demonstrate the latest technological innovations, including new, up and coming technologies from the Department of Science and Technology, GoI but also foster cultural understanding and promote sustainable practices, making it a comprehensive and enriching global platform for participants and visitors alike.
