The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in partnership with The Australian Government, announces Project ‘Hack4Agri’- an initiative to engage the youth of Karnataka to ideate, innovate, incubate, and implement scalable solutions to address post-harvest losses in the agricultural sector.

The project aims to re-orient youth engagement in the agricultural sector through technological and digital solutions. It is designed to promote youth centred learning and knowledge application while accentuating their skill sets related to problem-solving, critical thinking, technology adaptation leadership, effective communication and interpersonal skills.

The overall program spans 18 months and is organized under four broad sections in a linear relationship represented in the diagram below.

Task: Engineer ‘Hacks’ to solve the prevailing issues pertaining to post-harvest agricultural waste. The ‘Hacks’ are to be designed and operationalized by teams comprising 3 students and 1 faculty.

Please note: All submissions should be original thought processes that drives a positive transformative impact in the agricultural ecosystem.

Theme: Solutions to Post Harvest Agricultural Waste

Who can participate: Students in the age group of 18-23 years from Higher Learning Institutes in Karnataka.

  • Knowledge enhancement through technical sessions
  • Network with relevant stakeholders from the agricultural ecosystem

Besides these, applicants will get an opportunity to attend workshops that will strengthen their ‘hacks’ and will be provided support and guidance from experts. The project will monitor, mentor and document the journey of the teams in devising their hacks. A booklet and video documentation will showcase the ‘hacks’ and its potential impacts to address the prevailing problems of the agricultural sector. The top 5 hacks will be promoted on TERI's website and social media accounts.
