New Delhi is equipped with one of the nation's largest fleet of first-class luxurious air-conditioned, metered taxis, equipped with the GPS and GPRS technology, providing total transport solutions for point-to-point travel within Delhi and neighbouring areas, and pickups or drops to the airport. Besides the cabs, there is a fleet of more than 1000 low-floor air-conditioned buses connecting various corners of the city. The Delhi Metro, widely known as the 'lifeline' of the city, is a public transport network of around 90 km and covering about 35,000 km each day. It has a combination of elevated, at-grade and underground lines, which makes the commuting in the capital city a joyous and peaceful experience in its state-of-the-art air-conditioned coaches.
