Field Interactions
Field Visits to Pune and Ahmednagar district (November 2015)
The GovClimServices Team visited some villages identified in Pune and Ahmednagar district to interact with the communities to assess whether the climate services they are subscribing are participatory, equitable (open access), legitimate, accessible, timely and tailored to various groups of end-users. To understand this Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and individual interviews were conducted with climate services subscribers (large and small scale farmers and women farmers) and non-subscribers to understand why and which climate services are working for them. The interest of the team was to get acquainted with various types of knowledge and new products and services that have been developed and become communicated through the different actors/tiers of the system – from national to local levels – and how this information is used in local decision making.
