Significant reduction in the quantity of pesticides applied for crop protection is required to overcome problems of environmental contamination, bioaccumulation, and increases in pest resistance. Nanoformulations of pesticides designed to achieve higher water solubility and with smart and targeted delivery mechanisms are being developed under this program.
