While energy access has significantly improved, the focus has shifted to enhancing energy productivity. Transitioning from fossil fuels will require a strategic shift from non-renewable to cleaner and renewable energy solutions.
Building on this idea, TERI has relaunched its Lighting a Billion Lives (LaBL) campaign into LaBL 2.0 focusing on Leveraging clean energy for a billion livelihood. The initiative focuses on leveraging clean energy to power sustainable livelihoods—particularly through women-led enterprises, rural micro-units, and productive-use renewable energy solutions.
To further scale the impact, TERI has partnered with Global Carbon Council (GCC), the first internationally accredited carbon standard in the Global South — to establish India's first digital carbon marketplace. This platform focuses on household and livelihood-based clean energy projects under TERI's flagship LaBL 2.0 framework.
With growing role of AI and digital technologies into research & sustainability, TERI has initiated collaborated with various tech-based solution providers.
This partnership aims to promote, pilot and scale AI based interventions in sustainability by collaborating with national and international institutions.
