DBT Mission for Quality Planting Material Production and Utilization for the North-East: Highlights 2008-11
- Production of tissue culture quality planting material with inputs of biofertilisers and biopesticides etc. in the NE region
- Settingup of quality farms for the identified products in each NE state
- Strengthening of tissue culture infrastructure base and establishment of institutional linkages for effective implementation
- Establishing marketing linkages for value products
- Upliftment of socio-economic condition of the farmers through Employment and income generation.
- Regular interaction with coordinating agency and implementing agency of the states
- Visit to the demonstration sites to ensure timely action and to correct shortfall in the implementation process
- Organize monitoring committee meetings comprising of all the stakeholders of the states to ensure that the project is appropriately implemented
- Organise review meeting of the coordinating agencies of the states
- Submit half yearly report to DBT on the target vis-a-vis achievement of the mission activities and timelines for completion.
- Training of trainers (TOTs)
- Refresher course on recent developments in Agricultural Biotechnology
- Farmers training on production technology and plantation management
- Training on post-harvest technologies (PHT)
- Training for enterprise development (ED)
