FAO-UNEP has been engaged in developing a full-scale project proposal (for funding by GEF) on "Reducing Gas Emissions by Promoting Bioenergy for Heat Applications" through PDF-B grant from GEF. The proposed project targets the four countries; viz. Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka. FAO-RAP sought technical assistance from TERI to assist organizations from partner countries in carrying out national level studies as well as in organizing the Second Regional Experts'' Consultation Meeting to prepare the Logical Framework Matrix (LogFrame) of the proposed GEF project.

College students from Delhi will be targeted for the 'Youth COP 11'. This event is seen as an opportunity for the young leaders to put forward their concerns on climate related issues. A series of sensitization and awareness programmes will be held for this group. This includes sessions with experts on policy issues related to climate change, adequate information dissemination through manuals and other publications.

The objective of the project is to develop a customized cement sector tool for the GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions that could be used by the Indian cement industry. The customized tool is expected to lead to greater acceptability of the tool by the cement plants.

The goal is to develop a sustainable framework for training on technologies for conservation, reclamation, and refuse of natural resources. As a model example, this project will focus on improving water efficiency by exposing the target groups to real-life applications through virtual industrial and municipal environments created using IT-based tools.

Provide assistance to Asian Development Bank in developing a proposal for carrying out a study across Asia to estimate tailpipe exhaust mass emission factors. This would include identifying key issues in implementing such a strategy, facilitating a dialogue on such concerns, and developing a common approach that can be followed in implementing such a programme across Asia.

The project has been implemented by TERI in partnership with the RKM (Ramakrishna Mission) and the Jadavpur University. The main goal and objectives of the project were (1) to create viable enterprises on both, demand and supply side of solar energy business in the remote rural location, (2) to create an organizational set-up, viz. MFEDO (Market Facilitating and Enterprise Development Organization), and (3) to facilitate MFEDO in creating six women entrepreneurs of solar power. Under this project, a cluster organization, viz.
