Job Profile

Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate-I for a time-bound Deakin University funded Centre for Excellence in Agriculture and Environment -Seed Biopriming with plant-associated bacteria and hydrogels for improved crop performance-
Job Profile:
1. Fast track activities of the project and monitor progress against approved work plan
2. Work with Project Supervisory team at TERI and Deakin to make sure project is on track
3. Carrying out seed biopriming experiments, impact studies and validation, with biofertilizers and other products.
4. Carrying out molecular biology related experiments including PCR, qRT-PCR, biochemical and microbiological assays as required.
5. Collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data (both primary and secondary).
6. Writing and preparing project reports, research manuscripts, conducting literature review and other deliverables as per projects timelines.
7. Participate in internal and external meetings, workshops, conferences, and other dissemination activities.


Experience

1 - 2 Years


Qualification

1) PhD degree in any area of Plant Biology /Microbial Genetics /Molecular biology/Agricultural Sciences OR
2) One - Two years- experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
Preferred - Minimum 2 publications in international journals of repute as First Author.


Skills

Hands-on experience in Plant genetics- Molecular biology (particularly RNA isolation- cloning- quantitative real-time PCR- Northern blotting)- Microbiology and Computational studies (OMICS) is REQUIRED. In depth understanding about greenhouse validation a
