Leaders from the field of sustainability, youth activism, business, media and so on were invited for the leadership lecture and launch ceremony of the project held in August 2015 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. It acted as a platform to actively engage ‘thought leaders’ from across the spectrum to interact and inspire young minds.
A week long residential Orientation program was organized in December 2015 at Gurgaon for the LEADearth Fellows. Top 10 projects from the pool of 30 projects (conceptualized by each fellow) were selected for funding and implementation. Sessions by experts on sustainable development, leadership, CSR, conflict resolution, team work and project management were conducted. The classroom sessions interspersed with visits to organizations, schools, social experiments and enterprises.

The objective of conducting the lab was to organize a refresher course for all the fellows on different aspects of project management and evaluation of their LEADearth projects with a critical overview. It also aimed at creating an interface of purposeful dissemination of ideas within the team. Dr. Annapurna Vancheswaran welcomed the LEADearth Fellows and motivated them to put on their thinking hats and accelerate to the fullest to become leaders of a better tomorrow. The programme had sessions on various interlocking themes pertaining to project management like professional writing, practical solutions for organizing an event, its branding and above all making it count. Subsequent to this, a group activity on pitching one’s project was also undertaken.
