Kavita Patil is the Fellow and Area Convener of the Water Technology area at TERI’s Western Regional Centre in Goa. Her core area of expertise includes surface water technologies such as Bank Filtration (BF) technology, Vertical Constructed Wetlands Systems, Induced Bank Filtration, Storm Water Management, among others. A Master’s in Chemistry, Ms Patil has over 15 years of experience in implementation; research and development projects and community-based interventions.
At TERI she leads projects on River Bank Filtration (RBF) in India. She has jointly completed several projects with international universities like University of Rhode Island, USA and is also part of the Indo-German Expansion Network on Competence Centre for Riverbank Filtration funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany (BMBF). Ms Patil has worked and coordinated on internationally funded projects by National Health Medical Research Council (NHMRC), Australia Government and World Bank, Development Market Place in addition to being a Principal Investigator for projects funded by USAID, Ramboll-Environ foundation (USA), and Central Government projects from Department of Biotechnology and Department of Science and Technology.
