Measure and Manage Health Better

31 Aug 2018

The upcoming National Family Health Survey could expand to include new and emerging problems, and assess what hits the population health and productivity the hardest - air pollution related ill health, sanitation linked diseases, and morbidity stemming from food insecurity. A clear monitoring framework is needed - a comprehensive metric of parameters, enhanced in scope to include and recognize emerging health issues (lung capacity, nutrition security, mental security), at small scale (district, block), covering different stages of life (adolescence, geriatric).
