TERI-SRC Campus, Bangalore

TERI is the implementing partner of Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) in India. CCAC, a global initiative under UNEP is working with stakeholders around the world to significantly reduce short lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) like methane, black carbon etc. across the municipal solid waste sector, bringing together cities, countries, and international organizations to implement sustainable waste management systems. The initiative in India is presently engaged with Chennai, Coimbatore, East Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, Pune and Mumbai for solid waste management related activities.

As part of the initiative we are organizing a two day capacity building workshop on "Enhancing city readiness on Solid waste management" under the City Network Initiative of CCAC_MSWI during 19-20 December 2017 in TERI-SRC Campus, Bangalore. The objective of the workshop would be to engage with the cities in India as a part of the City Network Initiative on topics such as financing solid waste management (SWM); tender design and bid evaluation, data quality improvement and effective communication strategy. The intended target audiences for the workshop are representatives from urban local bodies (ULBs), as engaging with ULBs to understand and assist on topics relating to SWM would help enhance the quality of service rendered to the public.
