Padma Vibhushan Conferred on Dr Pachauri


Dr R K Pachauri, Director-General of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Chairman IPCC has been conferred the Padma Vibhushan for his service in the field of science and engineering. The government’s decision to confer Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian honour, on Dr R K Pachauri highlights the importance of the climate change issue for India. In year 2001 Dr Pachauri was decorated with Padma Bhushan.
